Privacy Policy

The short version: TaskMetric is offline-first. Your tasks, sessions, and settings live on your device by default. We only store data on our servers if you choose to create an account and enable sync. We never sell your data.

1. Who we are

TaskMetric (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a Pomodoro productivity application operated by Absolute Solutions, a company based in Tanzania (“the Company”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the TaskMetric mobile app and this website (taskmetric.absolutesolutions.co.tz).

2. Information we handle

a. Data you create in the app

Tasks, Pomodoro sessions, timer settings, and daily goals. In the app’s default Standalone (offline) mode, this information is stored only in local storage on your device and is not transmitted to us.

b. Account information (only if you sign up)

If you choose to create an account to sync across devices, we collect your email address and an authentication token used to keep you signed in. Sync is optional; the app is fully usable without an account.

c. Limited technical information

If you enable sync, our infrastructure may process basic technical data needed to deliver the service (for example, timestamps and a device/connection identifier). We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking.

3. How we use information

  • To provide core features: tasks, timers, statistics, and local notifications.
  • To authenticate you and synchronize your data across your devices (only if you enable sync).
  • To maintain, secure, and improve the service.
  • To respond to your support requests.

4. Where your data is stored

Offline mode: data stays on your device. Removing the app removes that data.

Sync enabled: your data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure operated on our behalf, transmitted over encrypted (TLS) connections, and isolated per user so that you can only access your own records.

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the app, under appropriate confidentiality obligations. These may include:

  • Cloud database, authentication, and synchronization providers (for accounts and sync).
  • Mobile build and distribution services, and the Apple App Store / Google Play, when you download the app.
  • Our website hosting provider.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

6. Notifications

With your permission, the app sends local notifications (for example, when a focus session or break ends, or when you reach a daily goal). You can disable these at any time in the app settings or your device settings.

7. Data retention and deletion

Offline data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you have an account, your synced data is retained until you delete it or request account deletion, after which we remove it from active systems within a reasonable period. 8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

TaskMetric is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and you may withdraw consent for optional processing such as sync or notifications. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

11. International users

The app is operated from Tanzania. If you use it from another country, you understand that your information may be processed in Tanzania and in the locations where our service providers operate.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
